Using VPS

Renewals, reinstalls, upgrades, monitoring, the recycle bin, and connection troubleshooting

  • Troubleshooting a VPS Connection Failure

A self-service checklist for SSH failures, Remote Desktop errors, and unreachable websites: check instance status, VNC, firewall rules, traffic allowance, and network routes.

  • How to Purchase or Order a VPS

Order a VPS from the console by selecting a plan, operating system, and billing period; optionally set a hostname and initial root password; choose automatic renewal; and pay from your wallet balance. Provisioning begins automatically after payment.

  • View VPS Monitoring and Resource Usage

Use console charts for CPU, memory, disk, and network metrics to diagnose high load, exhausted resources, and intermittent performance problems.

  • Upgrade a VPS Online

Increase CPU, memory, or other resources from the console when the current configuration is no longer sufficient.

  • Recycle Bin: Recover an Accidentally Deleted VPS

Destroyed VPS instances first move to the Recycle Bin and can be restored during the retention period. Permanently deleted instances cannot be recovered.

  • How to Renew a VPS

Renew a VPS from its details page by choosing a duration and paying from your wallet balance. Add funds first if necessary, or enable automatic renewal to charge the balance before expiration.

  • How to Reinstall a VPS Operating System

Reinstall a VPS from the More menu on its details page. Choose an operating-system image and a new root password, then confirm. Reinstallation erases the system disk; afterward, the new password appears on the details page and is sent by email.

  • Start, Shut Down, Restart, or Force Power Off a VPS

Use the More actions menu on a VPS details page to start, shut down, restart, or force power off the instance. Available actions depend on its current state. Force power-off can lose unsaved data and should be used only when the system is frozen.

  • How to Change a VPS Root Password

Set a new root password from More actions → Reset password on the VPS details page. You must confirm the action with your current account login password. The server powers off, applies the password, and starts again, so schedule the change during a quiet period.

  • Connect to a VPS with the Web Terminal (VNC Console)

When SSH is unavailable because of firewall or port changes, network problems, or a system startup failure, use the built-in web terminal (VNC) to access the VPS screen without installing a client. Copy, paste, and one-click password entry are supported.

  • Configure a VPS Firewall or Security Group

Manage security groups from the Firewall tab on a VPS details page: attach a group and add or remove allow/deny rules by direction, protocol, port, and source. Rules take effect immediately. If the provider has no cloud firewall, configure ufw, iptables, or firewalld inside the server.

  • VPS Snapshots, Backups, and Recovery

Create a lightweight disk snapshot or a full backup from the Backup tab on a VPS details page, then restore it when needed. Restoring irreversibly overwrites the current disk. True snapshot support depends on the provider.

  • How to Destroy a VPS (Recycle Bin or Permanent Destruction)

When a VPS is no longer needed, choose More actions → Destroy and either move it to the Recycle Bin for seven days or destroy it permanently. This high-risk action requires your account password and a final confirmation. Permanently destroyed data cannot be recovered.
