Forgot Your Password? Resetting Your Login Password and VPS Root Password

Password-reset guide: reset a forgotten account password by email from the sign-in page (the link is valid for one hour), or reset a VPS root password from the VPS details page after confirming your account password. Resetting a VPS password restarts the server.

Password Reset Guide

1. Account login password

  • Select Forgot password? on the sign-in page, or open the password-recovery page directly.
  • Enter the verified email address associated with your account and submit the form.
  • Open the email and select the reset link. The link is valid for one hour.
  • Set a new password. It must be at least eight characters and include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers.
  • Sign in with the new password.

> For security, the page always says that the message was sent, whether or not the email address is registered. Check the mailbox directly.

2. VPS root password

> Resetting the root password shuts the server down, changes the password while it is offline, and starts it again. The provider only allows password changes while the server is powered off, so your workload will be interrupted. Perform the reset during a maintenance window.

  • Open the VPS details page and select Reset password on the Root password row, or choose it from the More menu.
  • Complete the secondary identity check by entering your account login password.
  • Set a new root password of 8–30 characters containing uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers. You can use the dice button to generate one.
  • Confirm the operation. The server restarts automatically and applies the new password.
  • When the reset finishes, the new password appears on the Root password row on the details page, where you can copy it.
