Auto-Renew & Billing Cycle FAQ
Default state, when and how much is charged, handling insufficient balance, renewal pricing, how to turn it off, and how domains differ.
Is auto-renew on by default?
For VPS / bare metal it's an option at checkout and on by default; for domains it's set separately and off by default, enabled manually in domain management. See the Auto-renew guide.
When is auto-renew charged, and how much?
Before expiry the system charges your wallet balance at the current renewal price. Note the renewal price is recalculated live at renewal time and may differ from your original order price (it tracks pricing changes).
What if auto-renew fails for insufficient balance?
Auto-renew failures are almost always insufficient balance. Top up and renew manually in time, otherwise the resource stops on expiry and is eventually reclaimed. Keep enough balance on hand.
How do I turn auto-renew on / off?
- VPS: instance detail → "Renew" tab, toggle the switch;
- Bare metal: in the instance detail;
- Domain: Console → Domains → domain detail → Renew, enabled separately.
If I turn auto-renew off, does the resource stop immediately?
No. Turning it off only means no automatic charge at expiry; you keep using it for the current cycle. Remember to renew manually before it expires, or service will stop.
Will I be notified of renewal success / failure?
Yes. Results are sent via in-app notification / email; a failure notice also states the reason (usually insufficient balance).
I forgot to renew — can I still recover the resource?
After expiry the resource stops but can still be renewed / recovered during a grace period, and is reclaimed only after that. For deleted or reclaimed VPS instances see the Recycle bin guide; expired domains enter a redemption period (higher fee), see Domain renewal & expiry.
Can I enable auto-renew on several resources at once?
Yes. Each resource's auto-renew toggle is independent and doesn't affect the others.
