Use a Private Network for Internal Connectivity

Building a cluster or database replication across multiple VPS instances? A private network lets them communicate internally without consuming public bandwidth and is more secure.

Where to configure it

Open Console → VPS → Instance details → Network to:

• Create a private network or add the current instance to an existing one.
• View the private IP address assigned to the instance.
• Remove the instance from a private network.

Behavior and limitations

• Instances on the same private network communicate directly through their private IP addresses.
• Instances normally must be in the same region to join the same private network.
• The platform assigns private IP addresses automatically. Use the value shown on the Network page.
• Some plans, such as bundled groups, configure the private network automatically and require no manual setup.

Common problems

• The private IP does not respond to ping after joining: confirm that both instances are on the same private network and that their operating-system firewalls allow the private subnet. A newly assigned private IP may take a short time to become active.
• For other issues, submit a ticket and include both instance IDs.
