Domain Renewal and Expiration
How to renew a domain, what happens after expiration, and how to enable automatic renewal.
A domain expiration affects more than the website: DNS and email stop working as well. Renew important domains in advance.
How to renew
- Open Console → Domains and select the domain.
- Open Renewal and choose the number of years.
- Confirm the price and pay from your wallet balance. If the balance is insufficient, add funds first.
What happens after expiration?
- DNS resolution stops after the domain expires, making the website and related services unreachable.
- After a period of time, the domain enters redemption. Redemption normally costs much more than a standard renewal. Later, the domain is released publicly and someone else may register it.
- Complete renewal before the expiration date.
Automatic renewal
Automatic renewal for domains is disabled by default. We recommend enabling it for important domains: open Renewal on the domain details page and turn on Automatic renewal. The system charges your wallet before expiration. See Automatic Renewal.
