Automatic Renewal for VPS, Bare Metal, and Domains

How automatic renewal defaults work, how charges and failures are handled, and where to enable or disable the setting.

With automatic renewal enabled, the system charges your wallet balance before a resource expires, helping prevent an interruption caused by a missed renewal.

Default settings

  • VPS and bare metal: automatic renewal can be selected during the order and is enabled by default.
  • Domains: automatic renewal is configured separately and is disabled by default. Enable it manually in domain management.

Enable or disable automatic renewal

  • VPS: open Renewal on the instance details page and change the Automatic renewal switch.
  • Bare metal: use the corresponding setting on the instance details page.
  • Domains: open Console → Domains → Domain details → Renewal and enable it for that domain.

Charges and failed renewals

  • Before expiration, the system automatically charges the wallet at the current renewal price.
  • An insufficient balance causes automatic renewal to fail, and the resource stops after expiration. Keep enough funds available by adding funds, or renew manually on time.
  • The result is sent through an in-app notification or email. Monitor those notifications.

Tip

A resource that expires without renewal is stopped and later recycled. See Recycle Bin. For important workloads, enable automatic renewal and configure balance alerts.
